Element 3: Hydrocarbon Process Safety 2

§  Failure Modes

§  Other Types of Failure

§  Safety Critical Equipment Controls

§  Safe Storage of Hydrocarbons

§  Fire Hazards, Risks and Controls

§  Furnace and Boiler Operations

Element 4: Fire Protection and Emergency Response

§  Fire and Explosion in the Oil and Gas Industries

§  Emergency Response

Element 5: Logistics and Transport Operations

§  Marine Transport

§  Land Transport

The course is assessed by a written two-hour examination.

When students have passed the examination, a final grade is awarded as follows:-

Pass                     45 - 54

Credit                 55 - 64

Distinction         65 marks or more
