The medical discipline of Phlebotomy involves drawing suitable and sufficient blood samples for analysis at the request of a Physician; this involves direct interaction with patients so that they can be treated both physically and psychologically.

·       It is fundamental that Phlebotomy technicians are knowledgeable and adequately trained in the field. 

·       Blood samples are collected for various diagnostic purposes thus; technicians must ensure that accurate test results are achieved. In addition, Phlebotomy technicians should be psychologically competent to convince the patient by upholding effective communication since most time is spent directly working with them. This minimizes patient discomfort and ease patient’s fears by remaining calm, pleasant, and concerned.   5. I passed hsb.. But don't have a certificate in first aid even tho I have knowledge of it.. Can I still do the course or do I need to do fist aid as well as the blood bourne pathogen? 😞
